Hi, I’m Nykea, co-founder of Melanated Moms Travel and the heart behind the scenes. As a proud mom and passionate advocate for self-care, I’ve always believed that mothers deserve to be celebrated and cherished.
My journey with Melanated Moms Travel began with my own experiences as a mother, juggling the beautiful chaos of family life while seeking moments to recharge and reconnect with myself. Inspired by the transformative power of travel and the incredible strength of moms of color, I teamed up with my amazing husband, Dayrell, to create a space where mothers can indulge in luxurious escapes that honor their hard work and dedication.
At Melanated Moms Travel, I ensure that the experiences we offer are personalized, high-quality, and perfectly tailored for moms of color. I believe in the power of community and the importance of finding joy in every moment. My vision is to build a sisterhood where moms can connect, rejuvenate, and embrace the luxury they deserve.

Hi, I’m Dayrell Hughes, the founder of Melanated Moms Travel. For me, family is everything, and there’s nothing more important than making lasting memories. When it comes to vacations, I thrive on planning every moment of adventure, fun, and relaxation—especially for my incredible wife. With all she does for our family, these trips have always been my way of showing my appreciation and offering her unique experiences like no other.
Inspired by my wife and the love we share for our family, I founded Melanated Moms Travel. I wanted to create a travel agency dedicated to mothers who deserve an escape—a chance to unwind, refuel, and enjoy time away from the daily grind. Through MMT, I’m passionate about providing moms with the opportunity to indulge in luxurious, guilt-free adventures that allow them to prioritize themselves and create unforgettable memories.
